Just a quick one today because we’re about to dash out the door to spend the day on our clients’ boat.
Yesterday, we spent the day with some other clients at a beautiful Dorset venue called “Sculptures by the Lake” in this cute timber building overlooking a gorgeous lake with geese and swans and ducks flying around (the birds were outside - not in the hut!):
You might think we just tell clients they need to get out of the office so we get a nice day out, too.
Well, of course, we’ve designed our work to be as pleasurable as possible, but our main aim is to help our clients get the optimal possible headspace, and this is almost impossible to achieve in their own offices where they are open to interruptions and surrounded by things that remind them of all the things they need to do.
It was the first time with us for one of the ladies at our meeting yesterday, and she commented several times on how she’d never have been able to get as much good thinking done at their own premises.
So, whether you’re needing to do some strategic thinking, or simply get your head down to get a project completed, consider the value of getting away from it all into an environment that gives you privacy and feels inspiring to work in.
Give yourself permission to get out - like any form of self care, it really isn’t anything to feel guilty about!
