I never looked at it this way…

It seems like an age ago, but only this time last week Kev and I were running our client event in the New Forest.

Here’s me giving my presentation about anger management, which went down surprisingly well with the group - suggesting there’s a lot of people who regularly lose their shit in the world of small business!

Kev delivered a brilliant talk about goal setting and I never get tired of hearing him speak (which is pretty amazing, really, considering I live with him).

We even had one of our clients practise their public speaking skills for the first time and he did amazingly, however, the highlight of the day was a fantastic presentation by our guest speaker, Chris Croft, who not only gave our public speaking virgin some top tips on how to polish his presentation, but he also told us how we could all get an extra month out of our year.

Chris has trained 87,000 people face-to-face and over 18 million online, and has a huge number of courses on Udemy and LinkedIn learning, and we felt very honoured to have him as a guest speaker at our event, because being a world expert in time management he’s very picky about how he spends his time!

I’m obviously not going to give away all the secrets in his talk - you’ll need to subscribe to one of his courses if you want to learn more - but there was one thing he said that really stuck in my mind.

When you say YES to something, you say NO to absolutely everything else - every possible other thing you could be doing with your time - all the other important and valuable things in your life -  get put to one side.

It’s a sobering thought.

Every time I’ve said YES to doom scrolling on my phone, I’ve said NO to opportunities for self care, self improvement, or face-to-face conversations with the people in my life who really matter.

Every time I’ve said YES to a party I didn’t want to go to, I’ve said NO to recharging my batteries with snuggles on the sofa and cuddling my dog.

Every time I’ve said YES to working with the wrong type of client, I’ve said NO to spending time marketing to my ideal clients.

Time is such a limited and valuable resource, but we treat it like it’ll never run out.

We’re in Quarter 3 of this month already. Where has 2024 gone?

This quarter, I’m opening up four Fridays in August where you can spend a day with me working on your strategy for your life and business.

You will:

  • Set some inspiring goals.

  • Identify the best way to organise your time in the coming months.

  • Learn strategies to improve your emotional responses to the situations you find most difficult to handle.

  • Receive a guest invitation to our next amazing client event in September if you aren’t already in our 5% Mastermind.

DM me for details if you’re interested.

This type of day is best suited for small business owners and executives who are feeling the pressure of juggling work and personal life.
